I am a staunch conservationist and "protector of our environment advocate". We all breathe the air and we all drink the water and we all eat food planted in the soil. I will write and support legislation that improves the quality of our drinking water, crack down on pollutants and contaminants, and protect our parks, our waterfronts and open spaces.
I will work diligently to make sure our recycling programs (public and private) are working and efficient, our water supplies and landfills and toxic locations, such as the waste mountain covered in Croton, are monitored with easily accessible results, and companies/individuals are held accountable for pollution violations.
I personally would love to see more community open spaces and community gardens.
I will not support clearing open spaces to build solar farms and I will not support building lithium battery plants along our waterfronts.
I also happen to have Indian Point right in my own backyard. I will work diligently and responsibly with any and every agency to make sure the demolition is monitored very closely as local residents are very, and rightly so, concerned about their health, safety and future. Having said that, in light of recent news, I will fully support any safe and fiscally sound plan to re-open the facility that provides us with carbon free energy.
